Parks & Recreation

The municipalities of the Greater Bridgeport Area offer a range of recreational activities for residents and visitors. The region has numerous parks where people can enjoy outdoor activities such as picnicking, hiking, and sports.

The nearby Long Island Sound provides opportunities for boating, fishing, and beach activities. The City of Bridgeport and Towns of Monroe and Trumbull have been implementing the regional Pequonnock River Trail to create a continuous greenway from Long Island Sound in Bridgeport through Trumbull and Monroe to the Newtown town line. Once completed, the trail will extend 16.2 miles.
